After spending a few years…”away”, Norman Bates comes home and finds work at the local diner to make ends meet. While his new flame Mary Loomis turns down the advances of local creep Mr. Toomey, Norman learns that his overbearing Mother is coming for dinner…tonight! He must put the house and motel in order before her visit, all while proving to his nosy mother-in-law that he's a good man.
Due to being filmed on the Universal backlot and having only a small cast of actors, I always felt that PSYCHO II could be re-edited into an 80’s sitcom. The dark humor of the original version is still present but sanitized for a TV audience and Anthony Perkin’s performance is made into a classic hapless sitcom character with some clever editing.
