Haunted by terrible acts the Nazis perpetrated, the disenchanted Father Lankester Merrin helps with an archaeological dig in Kenya. There he uncovers a church that predates Christian missions, but the discovery also causes strange disturbances in the village — including changes to a disabled boy, whom Merrin grows to suspect has been possessed by a demon.

The original version of the prequel to THE EXORCIST was directed by Paul Schrader and called DOMINION. But after being unsatisfied with the first cut, the studio brought in Renny Harlin to re-write the story and re-shoot almost the entire film. This was released as THE BEGINNING. This fanedit uses Schrader’s cut as a base and adds select scenes from Harlin’s version, with both sources being modified to fit alongside each other. The title is subject to change.
